Guide to building web sites
The Ken Robinson Associates way
The following is a brief guide to how we approach the design
and build of a new web site.
[01]
Consult
Understanding the clients business, mission, issues and expectations
of how the Internet can be of value to them is the first step. Defining
their presence, whether it be by creating their first logo or incorporating
established brands, and tying that to effective and powerful business
applications.
[02]
Propose
Propose a schematic that we envision for your site. Functionality and flow become clear to the client.
[03]
Plan
Plan checklists and timelines are prepared for the client so that content collection is simplified and organized, and all players know the milestones and key dates to keep on schedule - key to good communications..
[04]
Creative
Creative time with our professional designers provides the direct communication that results in a personal "Look and Feel" that resonates. Client reviews and approves composites of their Home Page and Back Pages before functional development begins, ensuring a solid start.
[05]
Development
Our technical staff, armed with schematic, functional specifications, an approved layout and all client content are ready to efficiently produce high quality navigation and back end functionality (e-commerce, data base, chat rooms, etc) The client quickly sees a 'Preview' - a functional, although partial, site to again ensure that expectations are being met.
[06]
Testing
After all internal testing is complete, it's the client's turn. We request their feedback, or punch list, of requests for modifications or revisions.
[07]
Presence
Upon client's final approval, the site goes 'Live' for the world to see. Marketing campaigns ensue, and Presence is achieved
